SANGUINE

sanguine - adjective| SAN-gwin

Confidently optimistic. Sanguine can also refer to a blood red colour, as well as an object that consists of or is related to blood.

I went into my exam with a sanguine attitude despite my only study session being for an hour the night before.

Day 3. Word 3. And if there’s any word that encapsulates my attitude towards Season 3 it’s definitely sanguine. It’s a really inexplicable feeling to truly walk in faith and not by sight. (Sometimes in public I’ll close my eyes and see how long I can walk until I feel supremely uncomfortable but don’t tell anybody okay they’ll look at me weird)

With Zumi looking up ever so slightly, with his sights on the horizon, and a big ol’ grin on his face, nothing would make more sense to pair with this word. Like a good wine and cheese combo, yk? N I think it’s interesting that it can also mean blood red, which is a colour that is often in my work but finds itself curiously absent in this, replaced by a somewhat uncharacteristically bright and colourful palette. There’s also definitely another piece that I didn’t like as much somewhere underneath there too which could illustrate that sometimes to be sanguine you gotta paint over or ignore the bad stuff.

The world is a cruel place to some, and a wonderful paradise to others, and I firmly believe its all about perspective. To be sanguine is a superpower, to be able to see the positive in every situation and focus on the silver linings. Sometimes its more difficult than others, so in those moments just pull up wayvydon.com and watch Zumi and his perfect lil face and his blushing cheeks and remember that its never all bad all the time.
