This is gonna be the penultimate post re Project 150, and then we’re gonna move into some new territory, y;know, try some new things. So, without further ado, let’s get into some paintings, aye?

One of my favourite things to do while making this collection was the process of collaging. Chopping up old playboy magazines which in my mind were gonna have a lot more porn than they do. It’s funny, I found the ads from that time period so much more interesting than the hairy pussy, which was also extremely interesting, don’t get me wrong. But I felt like I learned something about myself and something seminal about American pop culture.

Hard.

Even though I’ve been doing art n stuff like that my whole life, I actually didn’t really start what I’d consider a formal art education until university. In that, there were a lot of things I was ignorant to, primarily African History and African Art History. n we can get into a whole conversation about the colonial/neo-colonial syllabi we learn here but that’s for another day. Mesopotamia. So this is a lil snippet of some of the more interesting things I learned with some wayvy in dey ygm.
