An obvious homage to Da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper’. As that was the last meal of Jesus’ life before he was betrayed by Judas, I decided to look at what the beginning of that journey could have looked like. Just Jesus and a few of his friends breaking bread, before they knew what his fate was. Jesus, I’m sure, was always acutely aware of awaited him. But I wonder if Judas was always a part of the fold, or if he was a disciple picked up along the way with the wrong intentions in his heart…

I’ve always really been interested in people, and by extension portraits, but had never attempted an abstract representation of a portrait. So, naturally I remedied that expediently with THUGS. The two clear figures are very abrasive and confrontational in my mind, somehow peering over or through some form of pointy, vibration-y barrier that they shouldn’t be able to penetrate.

I mean like, yeah.., right? You get it right? You feel it? You feel me?
